It's an 84 and it's under the axle leafs
I guess I would have to weld spring perches on top.?

Thats what I'm thinking, plus I'm not sure about the width or bolt pattern.

It's narrower, different bolt pattern unless it's from an 87 then it's a D35 cause that's a YJ not a CJ.

If its a wide track D44 then you can bolt it in but the bolt pattern is larger than our Xjs. CJ production ended in 86 and was replaced by the Yj Wrangler in 87. And yes, you will have to weld spring perches to the top of the axle due to Cjs having spring under suspension.

I've always thought that the axles were narrow when he got the jeep. It was like a sky scraper and it could flip going around turns. I think I'll wait for the next opportunity or go to the jy and hope for a 87 tow package xj

I've got an 87 two door with a tow package....with an airlocked D44.

Two doors are sexier than fours.
