Default so .. looks I have the 8.25 ?

sorry .. couldnt resist this thread .. Im about to replace diff fluids

front is def a dana 30

heres my rear

what is recommended fluid? I have the heavy duty hitch, but dont plan on towing anything .. maybe pull vehicles stuck in snow

a decent weight for daily use ... and some random towing, maybe a 16' boat now & then .. but I do see alot of snow

synthetic or standard ? yes, I will remove plate & clean inside . what kind of spray to use?

so .. these are beefier ? body is '93 .. dont know if this axle was swapped .. where should I look for makers mark ? ..... thanks

(jeep has 3" rancho lift, 31" new AT tires .. havnt checked out the rear end real good yet, its coming, front end is keepin me busy)

well you can take a zip tie put a bend in it, then measure 1/2 inch down from the bend and mark it, then hang the bend into the hole and fill until you get up to the line you marked (you will have to take it out and check it a lot). thats how we used fill atv diffs

2qts on the dot for a 8.25 will put the fluid level just below the fill hole.

While I get the humor, it's probably a poor idea to intentionally post wrong info. It's obvious to some of us but it's likely going to really screw up beginners.
