The housing is longer so the driveshaft might be too long, depending on your jeep.

Yes I had that same thought when I posted but didn't know either, guess we will find out.
Related question: how do I identify what axles are under my '89 XJ? I need to know so I can order the correct ubolts for my lift.
Thanks.
Thanks.

if you have abs you have the 35, otherwise you'll just have to look under and check the shape. There are lots of pictures and guides if you google it. If you do have the 35 and you're going to put big tires on after you lift it I'd suggest just going to the junkyard and buying a 97+ Chrysler 8.25 or finding one on Craigslist and swapping in disc brakes. Not too hard to do, especially since you'll basically have the rear axle off.Originally Posted by ElMartillo

Yep, googled, likely D35 rear, D30 front. I'm going no larger tire than 31", not doing any extreme crawling or anything. Maybe I'll upgrade to 8.25 in the future. Thx!

8.25s I believe did not make it under a Cherokee until '92? Prior was all Dana 35, and Pre-90s had non-c-clip 35s with 10" drums.
