When you pull the rear end get all of those items with it driveshaft, plates and I would use new hardware U-Bolts.

An 8.25 pinion is slightly longer than the d35 pinion is, so a new drive shaft will likely be necessary. Just find a drive shaft out of another rig that has the same engine, trans and Tcase set up as you have, but make sure the rear end is also an 8.25.

This enables you to get a drive shaft out of an xj that might not have the 29 spline axles which means you have a larger market of part picking.

Ideally the 29 spline 8.25 will have the same combo you have, but if it doesn't then that's what you will have to do.

You'll need new u-bolts, everything else should be fine.
