Cherokee Axle
I have had a stock 99 Cherokee for over 3 years and love it but it is beginning to rot out. I just picked up an 01 5 speed that has rotted spring perches on the front axle. from what i have found there is not a company that makes replacement spring perches. The 99 has a 3.55 ratio with the HP dana 30 front and the Chrysler 8.25 rear. the 01 has a 3.07 ratio with the LP dana 30 front and the Chrysler 8.25 rear. So the question is will i be able to use the axles from my 99 on the 01? I know the 01 has smaller universals so what do i have to do to change them? Will it be geared to low with a 3.55 ratio? I am new to modifying vehicles so bare with me i would love to make the 01 my jeep build. My final plan is to run 33's on a 5.5" or 6" lift.

Or you can truss it http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/10133.html
And the gear ratio chart we all use http://www.quadratec.com/jeep_knowle...article-26.htm

yes you can use your 99 axles in your 01. they should just bolt right in with very minimal work. you will also benefit with the new gearing if using larger than stock tires.
the u-joints should both be the same on the 99 and 01.

Yes both differentials are a direct swap from the 99 to a 01 model with the advantage of no new gear setup and a HP D30 in the 01.
Good luck if that's what you choose to do.
