So I just finished up my install of 4.10 Yukon gears and a Spartan locker. Took 2 days!! I'ved learned to walk off when i get aggrevated I must've put that pinion in 20 times. One thing I never read on any of the write ups was the difference between preload shims and pinion depth shims. So for those of you considering installing your own gears on the dana 30 just remember preload and pinion depth is 2 very different things. The locker went in perfect. It was a job but so far no whine and I learned a lot! Tommorow I tackle the 8.25. I don't think it will be near as much fun as the dana 30

Don't know about 4.10s but 4.56s require grinding down the gears a bit to get the center pin in the 8.25.
