Well I went ahead and bought the ubolt kit that really works was wondering if I have to buy a new plate that goes on top of the leaf spring or just use the old one

Just use the old plates. And in terms of u-bolt stretch as previously mentioned, the u-bolts are supposed to stretch a little. That's why they are a install only once kinda thing. Just like head bolts on an engine...never use them more than once...Originally Posted by jasonb85

old one is fine.... if you went with the big bolts i suggested you will need to drill them out a little or if you have any friends with 1/2ton chevy truck parts around the top plate from those will work awesome...

FWIW,
I've updated my site to reflect a little wheelin'-n-dealin' that needed doin'.
From now on you don't need to buy 3"x9" u-bolts if you have an 8.25" or Ford 8.8" rear axle. You still need 'em bu you ain't payin' for 'em.
I'll make sure you get the correct u-bolts at no additional charge when you purchase your kit from Serious Offroad.
