Default D30 Axles w/ABS compatible w/non ABS knuckles

Ok, I replaced my LP D30 for my HP D30 a couple weeks ago & am gonna pull my shafts from my LP as backups. Question is, my LP had ABS & has the "tone ring" (I think it's called) for the ABS. Are those shafts compatible with my Non ABS knuckles or do I have to cut the tone ring off?

Any (useful) info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I know the gears (ring & pinion) are reverse cut on the HP, I'm wondering if the shafts themselves are interchangeable not the gears. If the shafts are interchangeable, do the tone rings have to be removed?

The shafts will work fine. I'm running LP shafts in my HP axle. You can leave the tone rings on.

The stock axle shafts are plug in pray. What year is your HP D30 from? Depending on year may have axles with smaller joints. All late models, regardless of ABS, have the larger 297x joints. Early non-ABS D30 had smaller joints. Just so you know.

Cool, that is what I thought. The axle was out of a 96 I believe so I should be good to go.

Thanks
