As Jim stated the later model 96ers, Ran the temp gauge off the computer sender in the thermostat housing, so they plugged the port in the back of the head. Most of these plugs should be a removable brass plug or something similar. There is no place to install your current stock gauge sender if that plugged port is sealed permanently. Your 92 intake will bolt right up, in fact the gaskets are same part number.
