Cutting the grill to recess a winch?

Default Cutting the grill to recess a winch?

Anyone ever trimmed their grill and header panel back so the winch is recessed a little? Any issues? Trying to fit a Recon 10500 with a universal winch plate. The depth of my winch is about 3" more than the depth of the bumper I want to mount it on...

I don't see why not. As long as it's not blocking air flow to the radiator.

Just leave some room for things to move... (between winch and radiator) the radiator sits on pegs and I'sn't 100% secured in place. so leave atleast 1/4-3/8"" of clearence just to be safe I plan on doing this once I get my winch.
