Want/need a cowl induction hood for my XJ for a few reasons. 1, more air, 2, cool temps, 3, looks cool, 4, supercharger hole. Question I have is, should I go by a thread I read about raising and making one myself, buy a cowl hood on-line (link later if asked) or have a composite company make me one at only material cost (good friend of mine)?

if you can swing an angle grinder, measure some sheet metal, tack weld, and work bondo you can have a very nice foundation of a cowl hood in an hour. it just takes patience for the body work. I wish I had finished mine, but after awhile my body matched the dents in the hood so forget it.
VERY easy to do. and dumps air like a sieve. just takes time

Well. I'm probably going composites. Seeing as how I can still be creative with the design, while also keeping weight down. More updates soon.

Not really. I get it without labor cost either way. I work at a metal fabrication shop and my buddy is charging me only material cost. He said around $200 bucks. Which is pretty good considering one online is $600+

Well, your going to have to wait a little longer. Putting this project on hold for a few weeks. Buying two Cherokees, on with D44's and 6" rough country and the other a stock '92 with a 5 speed for $400 a piece.
