Hey ya'll.
Well my war path to scrap together all the goods for a conversion could not happen. Ran into a big time issue BC I work 70+ hour weeks.
So I dont have enough time to spend time dropping my trans and replacing it with the new 4wd.
So my nxt question is should I just lift her like I planed (8.5in lift maxing out with 36's or 38's) and lock the rear?
I know 2wd xj are pretty beast but I planed on going to uhwarrie. Tell me what yall think or if I should do something different.

And depends on the rear axle. If you're running the 29 spline 8.25 mayyybe but if you're running a 27 spline open 8.25 it's not going to turn out well for your rear axle with 38's. I would be patient, convert to 4wd, and find a stronger rear axle d44 ford 8.8 etc.

True I did plan on switching axles.
i saw a set of d44's at the jy.
the hard part right now is trying to find time. And the transmission and linkage every pick and pull i found here has xj with no transmissions.
I wanted to lift lock and add a winch (for the technicality)
BC i do wheel everyweekend
