I am still looking at lifts, but my biggest question is what control arms should i get? Fixed or adjustable? What are the advantages and disadvantages of both? Are the adjustables something i need to get or not? I am most likely going with a 4.5 inch, just not sure of brand yet. Thank you.

adjustable would be better anything after market is usually better because they're stronger and not thin metal. most people would say after 3 inches its better to go long arm for the smoother ride and better articulation. but in the end its your decision and your jeep. the adjustable control arms allow for adjusting pinion angle and centering the axle in the wheel well so thats a plus. at 3 inches i didn't need a track bar but im going up to 5.5 so i did buy an adjustable track bar. at 4.5 you might want to invest in one just to be safe. hope that helps
get rustys offroad fixed uppers and there adjustable lowers with flex joints but dont get there trac bar but u do need a adjustable one its just alot better then getting the drop bracket...IMO

Above 3" lift, you are likley better off replacing the stock arms and might need an adjustable track bar (and SYE, and Shaft, etc.). The stock arms are not that well built and that is the reason most lift kits provide a pair pf LCAs to start with...
This is particularly the case if you install a control arm drop kit (important for geometry after a lift), in which case you might very well need adjustable LCAs and UCAs to locate the axle in the middle of the wheel well and adjust the axle angle...

Stock uppers will work fine on 4.5". You need to get an adjustable track bar for 3" and above if you want the axle to be centered. Just about any aftermarket lowers will do fine. Don't get RC x flex arms, the joints wear out super fast.

Get RE superflex adjustable lowers, and RE Uppers, look at the Rock Krawler BombProof Trac Bar, as well as the IRO Trac bar with bracket, both are double sheer, and miles ahead of your stock one.
yea ur stock will work but its not the best idea bc they bend very easy...believe me i kn
Ok if u lift ur jeep 3" or more it is a very good idea to get a adjustable trac bar and upgrade ur upper and lower CA's it will make it ride and perform alot better on and offroad
