I am thinking of moving my stock gas tank inside when I get around to Herculining my interior. I have no rear seat so I have plenty of room. I was thinking of maybe puting it behind the drivers side seat right by the door. Im sure I could fab up a decent mount for it but I wanted to know what all would it take to do this? Also if I flip my leaf springs around for more length how bad would this be on the leafs. Ive heard it isint good for them but how? My leafs are unknown brand 3" lift ones. Any help on either subject would be much appreciated.

Why would you not recomend having it inside? On ebay a 20 gallon fuel cells cost about $200 plus shipping. Thats pretty pricey Imo.

Putting it on the inside will make it a bit harder to fuel up. My friend just put a 16 Gal in his Samurai. Though is technically in the interior, it is converted into a baby truck and thus does not have to deal with going into the interior.

If you want to do this I'd look into ones with foam in the bottom helps keep crap from going to the engine. I will ask him tomorrow and ask him what company he uses.

Look at summitracing/Jegs or other online retailer that sells them. I just did a 10 gallon RCI tank.. and it was 150.... you will still needs a fuel pump. Bosch E2000 or a FORD E2000 pump is what I would recommend. Also you want to remove the foam in the tank... IT WILL PLUG YOUR FILTER AND RUIN your pump. You are also going to want to put a fuel filter before your pump.. to keep the trash in the tank out of your pump.

Lastly since fuel cells do not come with tabs anymore... you will have to build your own tank mount... I also recommend putting some type of padding in between the metal and tank... I used tool box liner on mine.

FYI you should never rely on the tabs. Make straps to hold it down.

MIne has a custom set of mounts.. not tabs.... I used 1/4 plate... and 8 grade 8 3/8 bolts..... I dont think Mine is going anywhere

Ok. Theres other more necessary things that need to be done to get my jeep going again so Ill put that idea off for awhile so I can do it right and go with a fuel cell. But thanks for everyones help on the matter.

Hmmm. Some nice lookin setups there. I may temporarily put it in the cargo area. Im cutting my rear wheel wells out and the outside up all the way back (for better idea of what I mean see my build thread and watch the vid) but on the drivers side I will be cutting right through where the gas cap is so I may do it... Hard decision.

why are you comp cutting? you plan on building a lcog rig on 40s?

Yeah. Probably gonna go with 37s though. Eventually Im going to do a rear coil conversion and do a 4 link.
