Default Comp Cam for Stroker Project

Ordered a custom Comp Cam for my 10.7:1 stroker kit but they don't have a matching timing set. Any recommendations?

Does the cam require it? If you are ordering a custom ground cam the tech you ordered from should be able to match a timing set to the cam.

Unless you have to advance or retard the cam timing, a stock setup will work fine

No requirement, I just want to use a high quality part. I'm also trying to find the spring/button bolt because comp cams never told me that they use the old style cores...

What year engine are you rebuilding up to a 98 the cloyes double roller is nice but pricey model 9-3127 I don't know about a 99 but from 2000 and on they use a different cam retaining system that is incompatible with the spring pin style. jeep no longer supplies the cam bolt and pin...I think I just put in a ebay search for jeep 4.0 cam bolt and I got several hits it was 15 bucks and it comes from Taiwan but it looks just like the old ones I took off... 10.7 is pretty high compression... did you want to run that high...I had my machine shop complete the dish on my D-head pistons and then took off another .010 to bring my dish volume up to around 19cc ballpark ...I haven't done the complete math workup but I think it brings me to the low to mid 9's

I'll be sending the Cam card to Bob at Clearwater Cylinder Heads for his recommendation. I believe it's a 68-232-4, but I have not received it yet. It's 460-476 lift...

It's a 2001 and I do want the 10.7:1, but now you got me worried....

Been trying to log in for a couple hours. Had to give up.

Who makes Main cap bolts for 4.0 that have the top girdle stud? Can't seem to find them. Not even at ARP...

Ebay has everything. No need to go ARP. Just use stock bolts.

Used? OK. I'll bite. I have my original bolts. Is it common to reuse them?

As answered by someone who might know what they are talking about in your other thread.

But yes, reuse them. No reason not to.

It's a pretty big deal to me man. I like to get independent opinions. Just part of the scientific process. But thanks for taking the time to point that out...
