Coil spring compressed height
I need new coils for my 96. I'm lookin at the rustys 6.5 coil. I was wanting to know the compressed height after installed. Also the ones who have these how do they ride? Any other opinions on other coils? Thanks.

If so, that's usuallt the height they advertise, so I'd guess 6.5", maybe a little more til they're broken in.

OK let me rephrase, Once the coil is installed what is the total height of the spring compressed? So from the coil bucket on the axle to the top of the coil. It says on Rustys site the sring height is 22".

What do you want to know that height for? Get the size for your lift and go.
As far as rustys coils...they are pretty darn nice..the 150lb spring rate is soft

All depends on the weight of the rig. Measure the compressed coil under a stock XJ then add 6.5"...
What exactly are you trying to determine? If the spring will lift the rig up enough? Is the back currently higher and you just want to level it back out now? What size tires are you running? If you are running 35s or smaller then I would lower the back instead of raise the front. If your shackle angle is currently vertical then look into our Low Pro Shackle Relocation kits. It is very possible your back end is actually higher then the advertised height. This will fix your shackle angle which will increase flex and off road performance while improving your ride. Since our Low Pro kits dont add any height and you will be increasing the angle on the same shackle, this can actually lower your back end about .5", back to the advertised height of the leaf spring.
I like the ride of Rusty's coils. Nice and soft so they let the suspension move and work like intended. Make sure you run stiffer valved shocks though and bump stop as needed like with any suspension.

Sorry. I know it was a vague question. I bought this jeep a few years with a lift on it. I didn't know the lift size. I put in acos adj coil spacers in when i got it because the front was sagging. I just swamped in a 8.8 and a shackle relocation kit from HD. I had the intention of buying new front coils since I did all of this. That's why I wanted to know the height of the coils compressed. I went ahead and ordered 6.5 coils today from rustys. Sorry for the question. Just dealing with a put together setup. Thanks!
