NP. To me that seems like the most logical choice for your particular needs. Plus you can build as you go if you get another front axle. Just take out all the coil stuff, work on mounts for leafs and if you dont finish just bolt back in the axle and coils.

Wow, man $750, did they offer you a reach around with that?
Why not weld a 2" metal spacer on the top perch and run 8" coils? But there must be a cheaper way to get them made, I figure they could not cost more than $250
