Looking for a roof rack for my XJ. Been searching basically everyday to find something that I like and of course anything I DO like is $600-$1000. Not looking to spend that much.

Looking for a low profile design like the Gobi Stealth and also something that it fairly long (don't want a short rack). Any ideas?

 

Kevin's Offroad has a nice roof rack, similar to Gobi, maybe not so low but it's also pretty expensive:

What I have been lookin-at, none is cheaper than 300-400 and in that cases aren't full-mesh style.

 

I hear you. I don't necessarily need the mesh, I just want something that has decent support in case I want to put mesh in later since my friend can weld it for me.

 

If you got a friend that welds, go buy steel and beer!!!!

 

Ha I wish. I thought about it but he doesn't have a welder yet unfortunately.

 

I am not sure where you are located but there is a guy in San Diego that builds pretty cool racks and advertises them on Craigslist. I am thinking of getting one for myself when I can afford it. I think they are under $400 unfinished,
