Pretty sure my radiator is on its way out again. I'm tired of the closed system and will change it to the open system(92+). If my research is correct, the 92+ temp sensor is in the thermostat housing. Is the 92+ thermostat housing a direct fit for my 89 4.0? I'm hoping I can do 92+ setup and plug current sensor hole in block. Thanks for any help you might have....

The threads on the switch for the electric fan are WAAAAY bigger than the hole in the late thermostat housing.
There are radiators out there for the open system that have the threaded bung in them for your fan switch.

I like your flashlight. Streamlight Strion. I've had one for 5 years or so now, excellent light.
Doing your swap, you cut in a radiator cap into the upper hose and plumbed a overflow bottle? What other work did you do?

And thank you. I love the little thing. I carry it everyday since I bought it. Very useful more than anybody can think it is. I use it at least 3 times a day.

That route seems much simpler than swapping the radiator to the new style. My understanding is swapping the radiator involves swapping the thermostat housing and fiddling with the fan temp switch wiring. There must be a benefit to all of the extra work involved with changing the radiator, what am I missing?
I work in ship repair, I am required to have one on my person while onboard ship. It's in my back pocket beside my wallet. All my work pants have a wear pattern where the flashlight sets. It's a riot when I set it on the coffee table and my 2 year old daughter gets ahold of it. Looks like a rave as she runs around the house w/ it flashing.

Oh this is just temporary. I didn't feel like doing a radiator swap so I did this. (Miminal effort) lol. I need to make a bracket to secure the overflow tank too
When I swap the motor/trans, I ll need to take the radiator out... THATS when I will put in a new and proper radiator.
Haha. My side pocket on the pant legs where I keep it are worn out.
