Default Chrysler 8.25 27 to 29 spline axle swap

Hey all!

So I have a two C8.25 rears. The 29 spline has 3.07 gears and bearings/crush sleeve took a crap. It will need rebuilding. I went to the JY and pulled a 27 spline the has 3.55 gears and is in my XJ now. It runs pretty good in my 5 speed on 32" BFGs.

My question is, how hard would it be to swap the axles out of the 29 spline into the 27 spline rear? I'd like to have a stronger axles with 3.55 gears and maybe add a LSD while I'm at it.

Do you wheel at all or plan on it? If so,'I'd recommend a locker over a lsd.

She's a 2WD and my DD. I don't Crawl, but I do Love the JeepSpeed XJ's. Once I get a new truck, she will be my PreRunner toy.

I was just about to ask you what your front gear ratio was and if you had problems with mismatched gearsets front/rear
