Default Cherokee sport heater a/c box

I am in a fix. I have to remove the box to fix a crack in it that is leaking condensation on the carpet. How do I get the freaking dash out of the way enough to get the box out? Pics or a video would be awesome. Thanks for any help.

You have to remove the whole dash steering and console. Strip her down. I cant find my pics of the one I did on my 2000

i did mine a few weeks ago like 4 screws or small bolts run across the top of dash, under the top panel deal (up near windshield.) the panel pops out with some gentle prying, then take screws/bolts out.also down toward the bottom of the dash below heater controls some pretty stout peices likebolts 4 ( 10 mm i think). and see if anything else is holding it in. i cant remember what all i unhooked but it wasn't difficult just a lot of little pieces,it takes some time. the heater box comes out pretty easy too, while you have dash out it would be wise to inspect the condition of your heater core and ac core deal. im sure you dont want to be doing this job agian. heater box is easy .un hook all hoses and elctrical and the nuts are like 7/16 from underhood of jeap i think the are 6 of them. two near passenger back side of the cylinder head two a little more toward the Pass side. and one or two over toward the blower motor. hope this helps

What year is your Jeep?

You might as well replace the whole thing while you're in there... No sense in having to do it twice.

Look at the front of the dash thru the windshield. There are more screws up top. Just keep looking for screws.

got the dash loose and pulled five nuts from the engine comp that I presume hold the box in place. The box doesn't move that much is it just stuck from sealant or is there something I'm missing? I don't want to destroy it but I'm close

ok so I got the box out....its in bad shape. I'm guessing the front end collision it was in twisted some stuff and broke the box in a couple places ie.... where it mount to the firewall. Anyone have a spare they want to sell. If not where could one be found.
