I need to get a full size spare and I don't want to keep it inside or on the roof....
Looking for good / cheap solutions. I want to keep my hitch available for towing / carrying bikes.
I found a stock bumper mount one at the JY a couple weeks ago on an 89 but when I went back it was gone... I knew it wouldn't last long. That would probably be the cheapest and easiest but I doubt I'll find another one.
I'm not opposed to doing some fab work, but if there's something that will work for not too much coin, I'd rather do that. Hi lift and jerry can mounting would be a plus. Everything I'm finding is in the $400-$800 range! a little steep for the unemployed!
Post pics of your tire carriers if you don't mind.

For a fully loaded tire carrier bumper you looking close to a grand, unless you can weld one together yourself.

I just came across that while searching. I like that a lot. Still a little pricey yeah, but maybe... I also found a site that sells the hardware to make your own, but that's not cheap either.Originally Posted by Jakowski321

I was at the JY again on Fri and found one off a bronco that looked like it might be a good starting point, but I dunno, I didn't pick it up yet even though it's only $20.
I also though of just getting a Wrangler mount but I think it'd probably be too much strain on the lift gate and at the very least I'd need more capable shocks for it.
Still have no idea what I'm gonna do. I may try and fit my new JY $10 spare in the stock position and see if that will work for now.
Still looking for cheap solutions that don't involve duct tape or bungee cords if anyones got em...
