Default CB worked and after car wash, not working....

Hey y'all! Having a little issue with my CB set up. Before, it worked no issues whatsoever ever. Running a TRC 419 and a 4ft Wilson fiberglass antenna. Went through the car wash with the antenna off and now I can't pick anything up. The car wash had bent the bracket for the antenna backwards at which point I re bent forwards. As I said, I can't pick anything up when I could on DX Channel 6. The coax is an 18ft firestik fire ring( I think that's the name). But, hate antenna is off, no static. When the antenna is on, static. Any help?

Just curious did you inspect the coax wire that goes into the bracket. The little copper piece in the center has to be straight and not touch any metal or it grounds out. Make sure nothing is in there too

The copper piece on the antenna side of the coax? But if it makes a difference, when the bracket was bent, the coax was taught.

sounds like its grounding out somewhere near the bracket i would start there where the coax connects to the bracket, in the future keep the jeep out of those big fancy car washes, most warn not to enter with added accessories as they will either break your vehicle or the machine......

Well, I took the stud bracket shananigans apart and just wiped it down real good. Then had my buddy come over with his rig and it seems to be working. Gonna test the range out tomorrow on a convoy run.

It was tuned by a CB shop. It's an old unit thought so the finals may be the issue.
