Between the sunvisors, its out of the wa of leg room so no one can kick it on accident and with that location; the speaker will be louder because it doesn't get blocked. Plus if you get some water in side it doesn't kill the cb.
I made a plate out of 3/16 metal I had laying around that has holes for the sun visor clips go through above the head liner and put rivets in for the bracket. Strong as hell and wount fall off. Would reccoment a little strip of tint or something on top of the windsheild so its not exposed

Well I know it seems like it would be in the way .. but its not, lol even with a big 6'5 dude in the pass seat lol. Its perfect. And Idk how youd spill water on it there and the seat can still come forward all the way and no dangling cord. Wires easilly go under the cc and under the dash.Originally Posted by moparnj

Bottom of the glove box there are three screws. The far left one can be removed and used as the mounting screw in the center of the CB radio mounting piece. As I never ride in the passanger seat...it never hits my legs Originally Posted by Bbasso

I really like this mounting spot. I probably would make a small enclosure to hide the back. I don't want a big chrome CB since I have the new (97+) XJ and like as close to factory installs as possible (or at least clean looking). Wiring it up probably easy...the dash components are super easy to take off.Originally Posted by cmack

Like this even better, but my XJ didn't have the console and I still haven't read a good write up on how difficult (or easy) it is to put one in. I have to redo my headliner too. But I've actually already started a DIY overhead mounting system too (though I may start from scratch). Something tells me too...I would be annoyed as hell with the cord hanging there. Another consideration I've had is to hide the CB in the glove box. That way no one knows I even have a CB. Of course I'm also adding a ham radio, and don't think I want to have it in the glove box too. CB is one thing (select a channel and shut the door). Ham radio isn't as easy.
