Ya know I've been poking around on this site for some time and doing searches but can't seem to find much on where your mounting your First Gen Internet ( CB Radio )
I have a 98 and am almost perplexed where I can mount it that it's not interfering with something else. My 96 it was under the dash and there was enough clearance that my right leg didn't hit it.
On the 98, ain't happening...so, if you can maybe give an idea or two and post a picture, I'd be grateful. If i'm not searching right and this has been discussed a million and one times, let me know.

The control box for this unit is about 3x3x1" and mounted under the dash, on firewall. The antenna coax, wiring and the mic controls attach to it, if wanted an external speaker can be plugged in also I found I didn't need one.
All controls are in the mic head and easy to read/control. Shopped around and found it for $99.

Also, the area between the visors is a great place esp when the speaker is located at the bottom of the radio. I have the Uniden XL520 if I remember correctly and is a good radio for that position.
There's a strong header frame in that area you can screw the mounting bracket to. You'll need to drop the front of the headliner a little to route wires and coax but makes for a very clean install.
