Default Cat Back Exhaust/Muffler

So I took my XJ to the Dunes.. and ripped off the muffler.. Right After I took all the tools out.. hahahahaha...

So.. This is an opportunity. What do you all recommend. it is solid to the Cat . so we are talking Cat back. I can go get a stock replacement and bolt it in. I can go get a Glass Pack (cherry bomb) and bolt it in. What do you all recomend.

My intent is overlanding with some "good" trails. It has a 3.5" lift.

Cherry Bomb or Magna Flow imho.

If you want to keep the flow and the tone but turn the volume down to a level of 'still hear it but not **** off the other campers", you can add a glass pack like this guy did.

So because of availibility and $ I put the glass pack on. so far. so good. we will see how it goes.

I ended up with a 27" glass pack. I think I should have went with the 25".

A few questions. does the XJ normally have an exhaust hanger after the axle? or doe is all hang on that one rubber hanger?

The rubber & metal hanger on the right rear frame rail beside the gas tank is missing. That last trip to the dunes must have been epic.

Imho longer is better with glass packs, takes out more of the high frequency sound of the exhaust stream.

OK, Cool . .there was an after market on in that area. I am going to put one back on. Right now my pipe just ends straight out the back.. I have a turned down I'm putting on then i will use that clamp for the final hold point.
