modifying emissions equipment is federal law. Removing a cat in any state is illegal.
I have found that a lot of vehicles sound pretty good with only a cat. if its to loud just throw a cheapo turbo muffler on it

I have my exhaust dumping out right after the cat too. It sounds mean. When I first did it and went over to my brothers house he thought I was a cummins comin around the corner. It is a constant drone thoughon the highway so if its a dd either put a muffler on or upgrade your stereo. lol Sometimes that constant drone almost puts me to sleep or maybe I'm getting to many fumes. lol Just make sure if you dump it straight out the cat to put a tip on that angles it towards the ground.

Dont dump it after the cat, take it to an exhaust shop and they will charge you around 30 bucks to hack it off and replace it with exhaust tubing. That way it wont be so loud in the cab but will stil sound good.

must be illegal in your county to not have a muffler. i have ran straight pipes on many cars here in nueces county in corpus. as a matter of fact, dual straight pipes on many vehicles and single straight on two

From my experience (raised 2 boys, been thru plenty of hot rods), the "inside the cab drone" is MUCH LESS if you run a short side exit pipe vs having the exhaust dump under the vehicle at the ground. The sound waves bounce up from the ground and directly back to the floorboard vs exiting out to the side of the vehicle. It's still loud just not so bad in the cab.

yes it is. my muffler was ripped off memorial weekend. still has no muffler and can wake up my neighbors if i start it in the morning. the camp site we were at mem. weekend a couple campers were irritated when I was putting it on my trailer. i the cab it was manageable.
I was seriously thinking of this same idea.

HOs must be alot louder than a renix then, I ran mine for a couple months dumped after the cat. It was loud in the cab, but not that bad outside.
Then, I bout a tailpipe and ran it through the tailpipe with no muffler for like 6 months. It was quiet in the cab and a tiny bit louder than stock outside.

x2. Don't dump it after the cat. I did and it was cool for about 4 days, haha. A tail pipe really moves the sound out the back so it doesn't just vibrate your whole jeep. Every girl that rode in my jeep was like why is your jeep broken?
