i just did a 500 mile road trip with my cherokee but now it wont start i have dashboard lights when u turn the key on but my starter doesnt even click at all ive tried moving it to park and nuetral trying to get the nuetral safety switch to engage ive tried hitting the starter with a hammer but i cant get it to start and it was fine yesterday can i have some help please

try pushing the shifter up into park and keep pushing against it while you try to start it, I have had that get out of alignment so it didnt really believe that the trans was in neutral/park

are the dashboard lights dim, or headlights? If the voltage is super low it wont engage the solenoid, but the lights might be on and dim

the batterie should be good i just drove it 250 miles straight on saturday

if the alternator was going out/went out while you were driving the battery would/could be bad

i tried pushin it into park while i started it and nothing and my lights look normal

Did you even bother having the battery load tested? And two threads is entirely unnecessary.
