Hi, I picked up a chrysler 8.25 to replace my dana 35 with. I have determined that the 8.25 has 3.55 as gears. My problem is my dana 35 doesn't say exactly which gears are in it. I checked a while ago and the numbers were 46/13 (which divides to 3.53846). Can I run the chrysler rear end with 3.55 with my old ratio of 3.53846 up front? Is the 3.53846 actually 3.55 or 3.54?

You are OK Your normal ratio is 3.55. Yes the 3.53846 (3.54) is the front gear ratio matching rear will be 3.55

 

Yeah you will be fine I am running 4.88 in the front and 4.89 in the rear.

you can run mis-matching gears as long as they are within 1-2% of each other i.e. 3.54/3.55 or 4.88/4.89 etc.....do not run anything more than that i.e. 3.07/3.55 = bad news bears for your t-case
