if you want to make it look clean and do it the best/easiest way you're going to have to drill through the roof. like i said above you can make it look like factory and never see those wires too.

This is what I did.
First I drilled two holes in the existing roof rack like your talking about and mounted the lights.
I then ran the wires from both lights, spliced the four positive and negative wires and made two wires, one positive main wire and one negative main wire. From there I ran those wires under my visor on the drivers side. To get into the cab I drilled a hole and put a rubber grommet in it with a TON of silicone around the seal ( both around the area where the seal met the truck and where the wires fed into the center)
Then I ran the wires under the head board to my center conceal control panel, wired the positive wire to the switch, and wired the negative wire to the main ground bolt located in the center of the panel.
From there I ran another positive wire from the switch, down the drivers side A pillar to a electric distribution box under my dash. This is supplied with power from the battery using a 10 gauge wire and a 30 amp fuse.
At this point all I had to do was put a 15 amp fuse in the block and then throw the switch. They worked out pretty well!
Hopefully this helps
