Default C gussets topic here

Does anyone have these? http://ironrockoffroad.com/Merchant2...gory_Code=PFJK

Or what kind do you have? Those IRO ones look pretty tough.
I'm planning on installing wheels with 4" backspacing and have heard the less you go the more it puts stress on the axle. So I'm looking for advice on whether I should install C gussets, to prevent them from bending.

What size tire are you going to run?

Driving normally the hubs will wear before you bend a C. Of you wheel alot of rocks and have large tires you may want to.

I'm running 31s on stock wheels. Do you mean the hub bearings will wear out..? I don't offroad only beach, but im thinking the gussets would be a good idea for added security and for when I do take it over some obstacles.

Which C gussets are best?

If you say so. My main concern is just the added weight of the tire and with 4" spacing providing more leverage, and these pot hole infested streets, I wasn't sure if I'd bend one.

You probably won't. Lots of folks do exactly what you plan to do without any worries at all. Unless your gonna jump the truck, or rock crawl, or just beat the living hell outta the thing, you'll break something else long before bending the C.

you dont need any weld-on reinforcements unless you're gonna go jump your jeep. truss, gussets, inner sleeves. not really worth any of the trouble
it's a D30 just gear it, lunch box it, and leave it alone and keep trail spares

Go toss on some 37s and come back after awhile. Tell us how that went.

I'll take yalls word for it. Once again, just wanted to play it safe, instead of buying another axle, if they did bend. Thanks for the help.

More opinions welcomed

why would I do that. you should really swap the axle at that point so that's irrelevant.
