Is there a recipe to where I can build a leaf spring pack that would give me about a 5-6" lift without using blocks and/or shackles? Only reason I'm looking into this is to see if I can save some money in building my own as oppose to just buying a brand new 6" leaf spring pack. Thanks

 

Not that i know of without having a horribly stiff ride. Why no shackles?

 

if you want that much lift, and want it to flex, you will need at least a set of longer shackles.

as for building a set of leafs, you can use a set of s-10 springs and make up a bastard pack.

search or google the bastard pack to give you an idea how they go together.

i've built many by cutting the eyes off the s-10 pack and fitting the whole pack under the xj main leaf to get around 5 inches or so.

you can add a stock xj leaf into the mix to get you a bit more lift. but you definitely want an extended shackle or it will ride like a lumberwagon.

 

Ok thanks guys! I was just saying the 'no shackles' deal so that I can get a rough idea on how much lift I can get on the springs alone. I already have 2" rough country shackles now.

 

so you want 8" of lift?
blocks? lol you wont find many here recommending blocks
as much as I have searched on bastard packs I don't think I have ever read that "this combination will give you this much lift"
it seems to be all about experimenting
