Build Questions
Just picked up a 99 Limited Xj. Have some plans in the works, but have some issues I haven't been able to work out.
I plan on running 31x10.5x15 AT's (unless I get a good deal on some other type of tire in the same size)
Want to sit at about 3-3.5" of lift. Was checking out RE and RC kits but both of the kits have a bunch of items I don't want. All I need to lift the Jeep is; leaf springs, Coils, lower control arms. Correct?
Or would I also need to install at the same time an adjustable track bar? Or can I center the axle without one?
Also, What sort of tires would be comparable to BFG At's I don't really want to cheap out on shoes for the jeep but I might just throw some beat to **** MT's on here just to throw more money into the lift/Armour.
TLDR: How do I get the best bang for my buck in a 3" lift kit with out buying a bunch of ****ty parts I don't need.

I managed to **** a bunch of my friends off but after a while of thinking I believe I am going to get
RE 3.5" rear leafs
RE 3.5" Coils
What is the difference between the super ride and super flex kit?
Would you guys recommend doing both the uppers and lowers at once? Or just the lowers for now and grab the uppers later on?
Sorry I ask so many questions, just don't think I am the new bimmerJeep cause I know the shocks are not a two man job.

Well since no one answered me I have been searching like a fiend for a lighter.
I found out a bunch of stuff and basically all the Rubicon express parts are way cheaper on amazon. On 4wd parts they wanted $350 for rear leafs and $175 for coils. On amazon it was $112 per leaf and $112 for the coils ($340) total shipped. So i got both the coils and the leafs for the cost of just the leafs on 4wd parts.
However I cannot figure out if these lower control arms will work on an XJ.
Can someone please just take a look real quick and verify that for me? Thank you

Sweet, yeah that kit is what I was looking for. Going to go with that and some blistein 5100's. Going to order everything at once just going to wait a few more days cause I was supposed to get a set of new At's of Craigslist but now the seller won't answer me.
Does anyone have a recommended prep/tool list or just list of things I will need for this? I have access to just about every tool I just have to ask to borrow them. Also, what other parts would you guys recommend replacing while I have most of the jeep apart?
I'm going to grind down and do some rust prevention on the underside, any suggestions for this? Thanks for all the intel.

Look up build threads and write-ups on lifting your XJ. Soak everything in PB Blaster, Liquid Wrench, or Kroil for as long as you possibly can, and anticipate every single bolt seizing and/or snapping. Hopefully they won't, but be prepared with grinders, torches, saws, hammers, etc. You'll get the idea as you read through other threads.
As for rust on the underside while you're working away, wire wheel, flap disc, or grind it all off and paint with POR-15 or similar. I'm not sure if anything sticks to POR-15 to be honest. Another route would be a proper rust primer (again, after prep) and rubberized undercoating.

@Salad, so instead of using POR I could primer it and then bed-line? After wire brushing the rust off? Wasn't sure because I've read that bed-line traps moisture is that true or only if not proper done?

Just bedlining bare metal will yeah. Same as paint. Best to do it right and get in there with a self-etching primer, or a rust-dissolving solution like muratic acid, and prime it.

Alrighty, thanks. I have this bottle of white glue like stuff that my brother told me prevents rust and you apply it before priming/painting. Have no idea what its called though.
