Bilsteins come in alot of different sizes for lifts. Should I go with the 5 - 6" ones? I know I want them to be a little longer than actually needed but I want them to fit too. Not sure if I'd really be able to measure first after the lift install and then order because it'd be sitting on stock shocks. What would i choose for this set up then?

The 5-6 fronts should work fine if your at 4.5 inches. I would just get the rear 4.5s.

You will have way more travel up front. You will wanna bumpstop though

Well they actually only have 3.5 to 4 or 5 to 6"'s for the rears. I suppose the 3.5-4 would work. just not sure how tall the RE leafs will be. Probably need 1" or so coil spacers to even it out at first til the rear begins to settle.

I took a look at that 4 link Rustys has. Ill be honest, looks like they may have put together a decent product. Consider this though, for only another 100 dollars you could buy our 3 link or 4 link and it INCLUDES a nice removeable center belly pan and t case skid section that is made out of 1/4" to really protect your drivetrain.

Just a thought, let me know if you have any questions.

ipersonally like the FST because it does include the skids like he mentioned but i really like the hex tubes - they look beefy and heck and you dont have to unbolt the arms to make adjustments - but the 4-link from Rustys does look nice.

XJ88 - you seem to know how to peice together a good kit for little $ - put me together a LCG 3-4" kit using FST 4-link arms - LOL!

Your right Kris, The belly skid is a nice touch and is just a tad more. Hell, after shipping you may be cheaper.
I was just in awe that it appears rustys has broken through the suck

If your dead set on FST arms, and want just a flat bad *** rig this is what I would buy:

FST 4 link Arms: 950
RE 3.5" Coils: 110 (Set)
OME 2" Leafs: 250 (Set)
Boomerang Shackle: 80
Bilstein 5100s: 320 (set)

All this would put you right at about 3.5" of lift with a legit long arm 4 link..and youd be under 2k even with the bilsteins. Id say after shipping youd be around 1800-1900.
If you had to save some bucks you could cheap out on shocks and go white bodies to save 150 or so.

So this is my current build plan: 3" lift on 33x10.50x15 Km2's and it's a DD
Stuff I'll order asap (unless convinced otherwise)
1.) Zone 3" (Full Springs)
2.) IRO Adjustable LCA's
3.) JKS Quick Discos
4.) IRO Adjustable Double Shear Track Bar
5.) 4 new wheels from 4wd.com, Probable series 52ish rock crawlers 15x8 (only a 3.75" BS option; next size is 4.25 BS too much I think)
6.) Transmission Cooler
7.) ZJ Tie Rod
8.) T-Case Drop 1"
9.) Trim and Trim and Bumpstop plenty

Now I went with 3" of lift because I want to avoid an SYE and slowly build her up. Plus if I want more lift later on, shackles and spacers aren't too spendy. Eventually I do have hopes to go to 35's but it's a long ways away.

Future Upgrades
1.) Regear to 4.56
2.) Rear locker (probably lunchbox)
3.) Durango Steering
4.) Full steering upgrade (1 ton steering?)
5.) SYE and Front JY DS
6.) 1" - 2" Shackles and Spacers (If I decide to run 35's or want more lift)
7.) Long arms

And probably a JCR bumper, a roof rack, and a winch somewhere in there as well. I feel like I'm forgetting something but I'm sure I'll remember later. All opinions welcome, I'm trying to get all this ordered as soon as I can. But please don't tell me to just get all these crazy long arm lifts in the thousands of dollars, I'm trying to keep it under a good budget and build it as I can.

Thanks for any help and honest opinions!!
Seems like you got everything down! What about basic bolt one mods? doing any engine work? Snorkel etc.....

that setup is kind of what i have been looking at doing - BTW - not trying to thread hijack - it just seems like the OP and i are on the same budget and goal -
what about sye? brake lines? rear driveshaft? steering? disco's? trackbar? (and i guess a boomerang shackle does about the same as a shackle relocation kit?) guess a 1" TC drop would help with vibration so no need for sye or shaft.
my jeep see's 90% pavement, and when on trails be more of an expidition / camping vehicle. for now keep tires at 33x10, and id like to add hooligan fenders to keep a lift to a minimum.
what about just adding longarms to my budget 2" lift, longer shocks, longer brakelines, extend the bumpstops, get a better, add discos, steering setup upgrade, and hooligan fenders? wouldnt that keep it low but still give good flex?

oh and of course a winch

i wish Kris from FST would chime in for us with a LCG kit - wr u at kris? lol!

We can put a kit together with the long arm and any height you want from 3-10 inches. No problem. Its honestly gonna be hard to beat prices compared to someone that is willing to piece their own kit together. XJ88 has pretty much got the idea. I can take a look into it and get you some numbers for some ideas.

Forgot to check my own thread lol. Ya ill probably get around to the injector swap and a snorkel at some point. After bumper and roof rack. And lockers. And regear haha.

Dang u XJ88, i think i have a plan then u throw somethin out that sounds better.

Froelich, i might give u guys a call and see what we can workout. Im not sure anymore what lift height i want. Id like to run 33x12.50s or 10.50s with the possibility to go to 35s someday. Id like to have long arms if im gonna spend a ton of money.

If it can be $2k for everything, leafs, coils, shocks, CA's, track bar. Keepin it 4.5" or lower too.

Ya ideally i think id like 4" in lift but 4.5 would probably be best and easiest so ill probably run at that. Just trying to decide on what exactly to do at this point and hope i can do it.

I hope it turns out bada$$
