So the motor in my girls heep leaks everything, makes noises, loses oil psi ect, I bought a parts truck for $325, bad timing chain, pulling it this weekend.

Here's the plan, new oil pump and all gaskets, head is getting cleaned up, VJ and surface deck plus tanked, new timing set and since I'm in there I'm trying to find a Mopar stage 2 cam, I have a complete WJ intake manifold with injectors ect which will go on, there's a write up on mall crawlin, next weekend sometime I'm boring the TB at work, just the bottom of the neck where it tapers down, MSD 8228 coil.

The cam and headwork will be the most costly things. Budget is about $500 that's why no bearings or rings ect. Its a clean non abused motor with OK mileage, I'm trusting it and it needs to get done soon, can't wait for much machine work, local tracks just opened so theyre slammed.

What do y'all think? Its getting lifted 5.5 on 33s soon so looking for a bit more power without regearing and it needs the motor done anyways.

 

So which engine are you working on? Parts truck? I think a leak test and comp test would be best.

 

Yes the one from the parts truck, already did a leak down and compression test. The parts Jeep is a 98' zj with 145k
