yea I could get a few years out of a set of motor mounts if there a good set. I dont want to take the time and find out the mounts I got are junk and now Im in the same position I was last year. Fix it right the first time and be done with it.
I didint mean to say you drive like miss daisy, sorry.

No offense taken. I just hate to see people waste money they don't have to. And just remember, aftermarket parts aren't bullet proof either so there is always the chance that your upgraded mounts could fail as well. That's why I think it's a waste to spend the money on certain things. Goodluck on your find. If you want to find something to keep your ride smoother and feel less of the engine vibrations then try to get something with a softer material. The harder the mount the more you'll feel it.

I understand what your sayin but the reason I want to go with this brand is there lifetime warrenty and they also have a line of mounts that are ment for reducing engin vibes(not sayin it will be as good a ride as stock but better than poly mounts). I appriciate your point of view and I like that not everyone on here is pushing to cut up and modify your rig to the point where you cant recognize it or drive it to work.
now if anyone is still reading this and knows of a good tranny mount, I like the rustys mount for 60 bucks but I dont know if there is a better one or if the rustys is even good or not. I could go with a oem style mount but the last one I put in a year ago is toast and I dont want to replace my parts every year. I got my last one from kragen or what ever it is now and I dont want to get it from them a second time. autozone is not what Im looking for as well

Anybody ever use these energy-suspension mounts?

They are designed to be an "insert" for your existing OEM mounts. You tear out your old rubber and install these in the old metal housing.
I'd be curious how stiff the ride is.

I commend you for respecting the law with safe driving habits. As we all should and probably do. I will say that I am not a real aggressive driver but I'm not a miss Daisy by any means. I drive safe and respectable to others on the road. I also take caution when I'm 4 wheeling as well. I'm not one who goes out and says "if you didn't break anything you didn't wheel hard enough" I'm the one who wants to have fun while on the trails or wherever we go and know I don't have to be under it fixing something just to get me home. It's not a trail only rig.
Most of my cars I've recently owned have been new, mostly highway driving so the need for motor mounts were never an issue. In the years I worked as a mechanic, I did change lots of motor mounts on many cars. I'm not saying they never go, I'm saying they don't normally go that often in the same vehicle. Basically, what I'm saying is, if you change the mounts you shouldn't need them for atleast a few years. Not once a year. And I don't recall potholes or cracked frames causing motor mount failures either. Just saying.

TRQ427, you bring up a good point about the motor mount bracket holes not being tapped.
This problem showed up beginning in 1991 with the HO blocks. easy to take care of now. An absolute ***** to take care of after the bolts break!!
The holes in the block on the distributor were either too long or the holes weren't tapped deeply enough. So, the bracket isn't clamped to the block, but the bolt is tight....
easy fix. Remove the bolts one at a time and add a thick flat washer under the bolt heads.
