Damn dude that's pretty sweet. Looks like mods could be made to run longer shocks if you wanted.. I want one.

I'm running 3.5-4.5 lengh shocks on a 3 inch lift. I have full intentions on going up 1.5 inches in the very short future. For now, I have the rears tilted in a little further than they maybe should be but havent tried driving the Jeep yet. We'll see how she goes. I'm optimistic that it will be everything I've ever dreamed of, minus Kate Upton and Katy Perry...

Can't wait to have my Jeep back! I'm currently borrowing my Dad's old truck. It's a 97 F150 RC LB 2WD.
Its got the road manners of a Sherman Tank, the turning radius of the Queen Mary and the fuel consumption of the Space Shuttle.

I NEED MY JEEP BACK!!!!!

Sorry for the delay in adding my progress as of late, but work has been busy as well as I have had limited internet access to post with. The Jeep is done and drives better than ever. It appears that the shocks are leaning further than they should be but let me tell you, this thing drives like a dream!!! I'm currently sitting in BC just on the coast line across from Nanaimo. I drove the Jeep through the mountains all the way from Stony Plain, Alberta. 1400km journey without a single hiccup. Just beautiful.

I love this Jeep!

Rust proofed and bedlined the rear cargo area

Rust proofing and bedlining made it all the way up to the small area under the rear seats. I just have to figure out a way to protect the electrical wiring in there now.

Default broken shock rear mounts

Excellent work. Real nice. As for the shock angle when I was researching the JKS Shock mounts before purchase I found some information and moving the shocks angle reduces their effective valving by a significant amount. Makes for a softer ride. I run mine at the second to last inward mount and like mine as well.

Again sweet fab.

Thanks again!

It drives super super smooth now. Body roll is quite significant now but still nowhere near unnerving. It feels 1000x better offroad now too because I can feel the rear axle moving along the terrain, instead of bouncing the Jeep around.

Time to start mass producing those things! I really want one. $149.99 sold! OK, maybe $199.99..

The steel alone cost me $120 for this. If I were to make and sell these, I would make it a full kit for around the $300 range.

Tree Fiddy. I guess you'd need to buy in bulk, etc, etc to be able to make it cost effective.. But really, 300 isn't unreasonable, esp if it had hardware. Either way its a really cool set up and I'm still jealous!

Anybody else ever broken this Mickey Mouse piece of recycled pie plate before? Clearly not too impressed with the engineering "quality" on this section of XJ...

Going to mimic this build for the rear crossmember:
