And yes my secret "only to cherokee forum members" came back and bit me. The stock spider gears will not handle the abuse. From what people say on here not too many people break stock spider gears?

Alright already, I will be a locker and lollypop guy, I officially
for what its worth, ive got aussie lunchboxes front & rear, the front one i never hear a peep from, its the rear one thats a noisey mother****er. tight turns in parking lots, and ppl turn and look cuz it ratchets so loudly. lucky for me i dont care lol. i will say they both work exactly the way theyre supposed to, so im happy with em.

definitely get lockers, i was so sick of getting stuck, hopping out to look, and saying, DAMN, if i had a locker i wouldnt be stuck.

CASE IN POINT: my avatar picture off to the left over there, was my '94 which did not have lockers. and guess what? in that picture, its STUCK !! lol how sad is that? the left front tire dug a hole and the rear axle was completely useless. a locker at either end wouldve gotten her right out.

I certainly appreciate the feedback. I was thinking the rear would be less forgiving, and you just confirmed it. Eventually I will have an air locker in the rear.

I dont care what anyone says, I would love to have an OX in the rear. I dig the awesome diff cover with the orange OX logo. I would like to get a big old looking mechanical lever mounted next to the shifter to turn it on. People dont seem to buy them as much as arb tough, maybe for a reason, I dont know.

I like the mechanical lockers too. dont have to think about it. but for mech lockers it's gotta be detroit for me
but the yukon zip lockers are really shiny... I might want one for the front later on

Just an update.

Thanks to a member here he gave me a great deal on a carrier. So its back to an open front end Took me about 2.5hrs tonight to swap the spiders out and replace the ujoint on the drivers side axle. Now I am back

From everyone I talked to I know I would not be happy with a lunchbox. So I will be getting a mechanical locker when I can afford one. Or possible lockouts.

Thanks guys for the help.
