hey guys, so i just got a 93 xj. it already has a mild lift and 31's. i want to build something that can eat whoops in the dez as well as some very mild rock crawling. but it has to be a DD. is my idea to far fetched? just wanna shoot some ideas out there to see whats bs and what does work.

 

search function is your friend. look around at what has worked with people. to start off do you have a D35 or C8.25 if you got a D35 i would dump it for a bolt in 8.25 or XJ D44. there is no point in putting any money into a D35. If you are going to crawl it first thing i would look at is lockers.

Look for a 97+ C/8.25 they are about 100-150 in JY lunch box the front and rear and you've got the beginnings of a 4x4 rig.

well thats the thing i did search and i havnt really found anyone doing my same app. they are either building a crawler or a runner. i want mine to be a runner BUT can also crawl if need be. but this rig has to be my DD. and the D35 is worse than the chrysler 8.25? i thought it was the other way around.
