You can extend your stock brake lines a little bit by taking the bracket off the fender well but I would recommend getting longer brake lines asap. I have a 4 inch lift and got extended lines

If your still on short arms, especially if there stock, the amount of list wont need them as short arms will only allow for a certain amount of down travel before it stops by hitting the coil bucket. With hard line straightened, I can go full droop and still have slack in my soft lines. Thats with warrior LCAs

When I installed my RC X-Series 4.5" lift I would have had enough length up front for on the street, however, I had nothing to spare in the rear. I actually gained around 5" in the rear and the rubber line was almost tight, so even a pothole could have cause it to tear or break.

By all means the rear should be swapped first, is it gonna snap when wheeling? Idk mines gone a year strong. What my main point is, if you straighten the front hard lines, the stock soft lines have more than enough slack for any XJ on short arm(no drop brackets)

$18 for a Dakota line at any big parts store. You don't have to have the fancy stainless braided ones. I'd rather give up a couple meals at the Whataburger than rip a brake line on the road while driving.

Second the Dakota 4x4 rear. I'm only at 3" and my rear was a guitar string at full droop. I just put mine in about a week ago heres a pic of the difference.
