Well whatever I have to get I will. Brake boosters are $16 and master cylinders with proportioning valve are $15 on half days so its not too much. I'll take back the 91 master cylinder I already got if I have to

I disagree I've done this swap a couple times on 92 - 94.

I can put in a XJ Booster in a bout 20min.

It bolts straight in a side from adjusting the rod for the master cylinder & adding a couple spacers to the pedal for the brake pedal switch.

Yes it really is a simple swap. The only upside to doing a WJ swap would be so you would have more volume to support a WJ disk brake up-grade, but most of us are doing budget builds (not looking that far ahead) and I would only go that route if I was running 35"+ tires. So that would be a factor if the original poster is going to get radical with his rig then I would defiantly hold out for the WJ instead.

Sorry I know this thread is old, I am looking into doing this upgrade in hopes of completely removing my Bendix 9 ABS.
First question, is swapping in the dual diaphragm booster/mc from later XJ or WJ a safe resolution? I have a four year old and don't want to take risks with my brakes.
Second, can I keep my current prop valve on my '90 with either the XJ or ZJ combo if I don't plan on doing discs anytime soon?
I'll be buying parts new as again I don't want to take any risks

Thanks

This is a 5 year old thread, but I'm interested in details on the Durango booster swap.

Amount of old threads being revived has been crazy lately. I laugh every time TrailerTrash posts that one picture.

But the Durango booster is interesting, it has a 1-inch larger diaphragm then the WJ/XJ. But the Durango was never made until 98

We're working on a proactive solution to the "old thread" deal.

I'm a huge fan of the 99 to 2004 WJ booster/master swap myself.
