When they correct the caster, it is still going to hit. Since you now have a straight bar going from knuckle to knuckle and the fact that when they correct your caster, they rotate the entire axle, your tierod will still hit the swaybar mount. I am surprised they only did one side, you are suppose to raise them both equally.

Here's a pic of my set-up with WJ knuckles, YJ pitman arm and RE HD trac-bar with their bracket. No noticable bumpsteer. Don't mind the rust, its all getting replaced when the 609 goes in. Don't you love the Northeast!!!

Question

-So some arguing has gone on as this guy didnt wanna pay for the tow, if u can believe that one!!! I told him very nicely that im only giving him one chance to fix his botched work because thats the legal advice that was given to me to have a strong case in taking him to small claims court!! I further explained to him that it will cost me $15 bucks to open a case & that cases under $1k usually get seen in a weeks time!!

-The fact that it was obvious i have covered all of my tracks & done my homework, completely changed his tone as he responded with "we'll make it right" & he got off the phone to go call for a tow. The tow guy called me back in TWO MINUTES flat!! LMAO!!

-So the tow guy gets here & i finally had someone to turn the wheel while someone looks at it. Even the tow guy was like, holy cow & quickly pointed out that its hittin the pass side sway mount BEFORE completely turning full lock & then pushing it up!!! At that point, i said, "well im so glad he did the truss so my 30 doesnt bend any"!! (hes doin the truss "free of charge" as if its some kind of favor!)

-So let me ask, he busted up my JKS quicker disco's so he owes me a new set,, 2nd he bent my tie rod as ive explained earlier so he owes me a new tie rod which JCR sells seperately & by the inch,, 3rd he now fixes the sway mounts, puts the truss on & job done....... sound good to u guys???

Question 1st issue...

-Ok, so heres our 1st discrepency of which im gonna ask ur guys thoughts on it: Im sure we all know that once u bend steel its strength is compromised so i asked if hes gonna replace the tie rod he bent & he says no. For those that need a recap of what he did, here it is:
...The tie rod has a factory bend in it on the pass side to clear the trac bar mount at full lock. Instead of just turning the TREs to face down then drop it in from the top, he decided to flip the rod 180 which means that factory bend is now facing in, so what does he do, he straightened it out!!!!
-Thats a huge mistake on his part & the rod should be replaced havin a nice big weak spot in it now!! Am i correct????
JCR sells the rod at $2.25 per inch so its not like its breakin the bank either!! My TREs & jam nuts are fine & can be re-used too so its pretty simple but not for these guys i guess...

I wasn't trying to be a pesimist in my earlyer post but people more then less show there true colors right off the bat. and since he didn't care to do it properly and also didn't care to tow it back after his damage shows he still wont care to truely fix it to the proper extent, exmaple, the disconnects/steering link.

Just tell him the steering link you purchased was the proper one and he modified it to a point of which it is not in its proper fuctioning position or stength. the Disconects where a result of the improper modification and installation so he is liable for both and a judge would agree. if he doesn't buy them take him to small claims for the whole repair as based off the 2 attempts you don't trust his work quality or craftsmenship and you need another place to rectify the situation to a trustworthy condition.... You already paid for the correct fix, why should you be lieble for somone elss' incompotence? And if you do go to claims court argue that steering could endanger your life and others on the road and needs to be correct and to proper stength or his shop and the court could be liable for the deaths to come from his craftsmenship LOL

then once you get the money back go to another shop and have them install the new link and alignment and look it over and pocket the diffrence

-So i pick the jeep up & all this guy did was make the stops on the knuckles longer to stop the steering from binding!!! He did NOT fix the sway mount that its still hitting & just wait till u see this guys "truss" he put on!!! Its pouring out now so ill take pics & a vid of whats STILL goin on when it stops raining tomorrow.

-He basically blamed the problem on my gear box, (a PSC 5x stronger then stock), thats pushing the steering too far & binding the steering & now the shafts as well which now have markings on them since they ARE binding!! I told this *** that this problem has ONLY existed since he touched my jeep & he denied him being at fault & told me 15 times that i need a steering stabilizer & we all know how that subject goes!! As i had my friend keep turning the steering lock to lock to get a look at it, i looked up & the shops lights were off & they were in their vehicles driving away!!!!!!!!!!

-Im gonna be opening a new thread in the "off topic" area to discuss my small claims strategy with u guys & what i still NEED to do to fix the front end that is now so far screwed up that im ready to build a new axle!!!

-Id like to thank everyone on the board who has replied with YOUR help because i look at this as an obvious kick to the nuts for a fellow jeeper & the jeep'ing community!!!!
