Default Bored Throttle Body?

hey everyone

i was just wondering what size i should get my throttle body bored to... im looking for some more power but i also want more fuel econemy.

i have a high flow exhaust already with no cat but i am getting a high flow cat eventually... no intake yet but im either going to get a snorkle or a cold air intake... also i am trying to get jeep liberty injectors but i might get dodge neon injectors.

also can anyone tell me who the guy is on the forum that bores throttle bodies because i found him a while ago and he said he had a deal where if you send him 2 throttle bodies hell send you a bored one back... i can seem to find him and im extremely interested.

I think 62mm is about max. At 63mm the walls of the TB can become thin enough to crack.. But you need the manifold bored as well right? Idk cause I don't care about this stuff too much, but I think the manifold's gotta match the TB for it to be effective... Kinda like the rest of the air/fuel/spark/compression: it's not a matter of increasing one a lot, but more about a relative increase... Either way, You're on the right track with the upgrades.. Good luck..

Manifolds are already larger, at least on the Renix for sure. They have a 52mm TB on a 60mm intake manifold. www.strokedjeep.com does the boring on an exchange basis. Order one, get it and install it, return your old one for credit.

High Output manifolds, both Log style and equal runner have 62mm openings stock. Stock throttle bodies have 55.5 to 56mm opening at the bottom. My 99 has a junkyard throttle body on it now that I bored from 55.5mm to 62mm, and even with the Heavily ported High compression(milled .020)head, I dont see much difference from a stock throttle body on same motor, except for a bit better off the line power. I havent upgraded the injectors though, which would proabably help. Add more air, you should add more fuel.

Did you install a larger throttle butterfly?
The computer will add more fuel automatically.

60 mm for Renix, 62mm for HO. Don't overthink this. It's not a huge deal. I've done 3 Renix Jeeps from 52mm stock to 60mm which is the intake manifold size. They run great. Your fuel system is quite adaptive. We're not talking carburetors here.

How do you bore a TB exactly?
