Default Boomarang shackles?

OK I'm looking to purchase a set of these for my 98 xj I'm on 6" lift now I'm replacing the leafs and shocks in rear with a new set that's from a 6.5 lift and also replacing front coils with a set from a 6.5 and was wondering if I bought these shackles if I'd be ok or would it add to much lift to the rear?

My question is do you have all that is required for the 6" lift you now have, and why do you want to go higher to run 40" tires? If so do you have the differentials to do so?

I'm running roughly the same set up - 6.5 front and rear, with boomerang shackles plus Ironman4x4 relocation brackets. I'm on 35's with trimmed fenders. Part of the reason the PO sold me the rig for such a deal was because when he trimmed the rear fenders he ended up cutting the pinch seam in the rear wheel well to get enough clearance. I wasn't too concerned about it because I was going to stiffen the "frame" with a cage and Detours slyders.

I could probably stuff 37's under there if I REALLy wanted to on this set up.

If you are going to go much bigger than 37's in the rear on a XJ, without going to something ridiculous like 10" lift, you are really looking at tubbing the rear fenders. If you want to see what that process looks like, this is a pretty good write up. Definitely NOT for the faint of heart.

What size tires are you on now? Why the added height?

You'd be amazed what these things can do on "relatively" small tires (i.e. 35-37's). With Chromo shafts and some care on the skinny pedal, you can ran 37's with full case lockers on the stock Dana 30 front and Chrysler 8.25 29 spline rear.

Anything bigger than that and you will want to upgrade the axles. Big tires is why guys dovetail the front end and tub out the rear, to eliminate the fender/fender issues altogether, is that your plan?

I'm running 37s on a 6 inch I'm getting a very good deal on the 6.5 stuff it's newer stuff than what I got and some of it could use replacing I do plan on going a Lil bigger tire later on down the road with full width d60 and 14 bolt rear mostly just trying to can a Lil more hight so my rear tires don't limit out on the rear cage so quick

Nice. Might as well beat those axles into the ground before you go 1 ton anyway.

To the original question, what length are the new ones and what kind of shackles are you running now? If theyre stock, you might consider a shackle relocation box. It will help a lot with shackle angle and articulation. There are a few out there , some with no lift options. If you select the lowest lift setting and the boomerangs aren't crazy long, I doubt it will be much of a problem.

If you throw them on, and they are way high, just pull a leaf out of that new pack you're getting.

I ordered to adjustable ones from iron rock offroad I think the leaf springs I'm getting are 4 inch lift so these shackles I got will get right where I need to be!
