Default boat siding

Can anyone show me pictures of a boatsided vehicle and explain a little on how the rockets come off.... is is as strong as sliders.... any way it can tweak the unibody with.a.hard hit.... basically asking for.a.compare between slides and boatsiding.

Basically it is a slider except its just mounted higher, how high depends on you. It will be tied into the frame so it should be plenty strong. The rockers are cut off. You can weld a 2x6 in place of the original rockers and you will have a slider if you plan on running doors and dont want to do too much work. Boatsiding is more involved and you would have to modify the doors if you planned on keeping them.

Do some searching and im sure you'll find some more info. Heres one I read on pirate.

Thanks.... got it now. Most of the people on here seem to be doing more like sliders. Seems like the True boatside is more for trail rigs.

Ya the 2x6 rocker is a good idea and its rather simple to do. As long as you brace it to the frame it should beef the area up quite a bit and give you a little ground clearance. Heres a link to it.

I just put in 2x6 rockers and didn't tie them into the frame. Seen it done a few times without any problems

I would just worry about damaging the door jamb without reinforcement.

Some have seen the door frame beat up and out of shape due to repeated abuse without bracing to the frame. Most are probably ok though. If you brace to the frame, definitely do frame stiffeners first. I would never ever brace to the frame before stiffeners are put on.
