BMW S50B30US Engine Swap?

I'm trying to find information on the S50B30US to see if i can put it in my Cherokee. I can't seem to find much and I'm assuming no one has done it yet. It is an older engine and it might be easier to put in the Cherokee, and hopefully less electronics to worry about. I understand it wouldn't be easy but it would be interesting. I would like some info and thoughts if i could.

I never heard of a BMW swap (Mercedes diesel, VW diesel, Cumins is all). Is it gas or diesel?

It is used in the BMW E30 and is one fun car.

Engine: 4.0, bolt ons for days...

Isn't that the e36 m3 motor? I'd rather use the s38.... Work with a bigger motor bc you can fit it. More torque and power anyway.

With enough determination and fab skill any engine can go into any vehicle. This would be a cool swap, though it wouldn't make a good crawler motor like a 4.0l. If you don't rock crawl, go for it!
