Default Bilsteins 5100s and Bar Pin Eliminators?

Currently in the process of lifting my Jeep with an RE 3.5" and I bought 5100s all around. I also bought the JKS lower front bar pin eliminators and the IRO rear upper bar pin eliminators.

Problem is that the 5100s don't really have a "bar pin", per say. The pin part is round in the bushing in all shocks, and I can't figure out a way to remove the bar pin and slide the eliminators into the bushings. I actually popped out a bushing and bar pin out as a whole by accident trying to press the bar pin out.

Any suggestions, or do the 5100s not need the bar pin eliminators?

Thank you.

Ok so they are removable in the 5100s then? Because I tried with a BFH and nada. Trying C-Clamps this weekend as a type of vise..

You can do it with a hacksaw and vise grips. Or a dremel with a cutoff wheel. You can even do it without cutting. Think about it, they went in somehow.... They should come out.

cut the wider part off, rest the bushing on a socket of the same width, use a punch and a hammer and knock it through the bushing.

Yea I know, I was asking because I read on JeepForum that the bushing was molded around the bar pin as one piece. Guess not.

Well that could be. Most all of the shocks I have bought have the in a little bag with the bushing in another. I had to lube it up to get it in.... That's the only reason I said that.

These came already in the shock body, and while trying to remove the BPE I managed to get the bushing out of the slot.

Depending on model, 5100s had bar pins installed. IF yours have "eyes" then they don't. Use some spray lube to slide the bar of the BPE in for front.. THe IRO rears just use a bolt that slides thru the bushing to mount it. .

This is basically how they look. So cutting the end part to allow it to slide would work, as long as the bushing/bar pin are one piece molded.
