I would say do what ever lift height you want... but WHATEVER you do spend your time tweaking it...
if you stick with leaf spring make your that you have a decent shackle angle, around 45° (from the spring face) give you the best combo of stuff and droop...
don't even consider running short arms and drop brackets... you are in long arm territory
on a big lift (8"+) you are going to run big tires... make sure your axles are up to it and by big tires I am talking 37s or better
just understand what you are getting yourself into

hahah that's how it is around here too...when i was mud racing 4 wheelers, it quickly became apparent that its a lot faster to go across than through the pits hahaha....15 grand later, and we've got a skimmer that barely runs, but when it does, you best hold the hell on hahaha...point being, i was just being a smart *** , as usual haha

Look at my picks the one with me and the stock red Cherokee. I have driven laps around that mound total side hill... never got close to tipping.

So on 37's I think maybe a little more trimming and some bumpstop and it will be good to go

Yeah front is trimmed just over the body line around the wheel well where the flare would go and the rear is cut above the pinch seam then folded under. If your gonna trim go 33 anyway. That's a nice combo.
I used to run a 4.5" lift on 32's and rubbed horribly when I got into some articulation. Would Highly recommend some fender trimming! I simply drew a line along the top of my stock fender flares, removed a trimmed along the line. Worked well. I now run a long arm on 35's...no problems with rubbing.
Just be careful when trimming the drivers side fender, the windshield washer bottle is right behind the fender, if your not paying attention you may just trim your bottle!
