I had a glass pack on my old 96. sounded mean as hell, it was a thrush straight through glass pack. the problem is, you need to bend a new tail pipe cause the glass pack is a lot longer and doesn't follow the flow of the original plumbing. I'm about to put a thrush welded muffler on, it's got resonating chambers and it's supposed to have a "deep aggressive tone". I picked it for durability and lack of modification. that and jersey police are dicks. i got a lot of **** for my straight through so i didn't want to just do a straight pipe, and i don't have the resources to roll a new pipe since the stuck one wont work and hit's a lot of suspension parts. hope this helps.

The welded muffler is shorter than the stock muffler and you will still have to roll new pipe. I had one on my rig till a rock decided it didn't like the sound. Now I have a glasspack and no problems

Just a heads up, talking about "no cat" or nay cat modification on CF is against forum rules so cut it now. It's illegal nation wide and talking about illegal mods is not tolerated on here.

That said, I've got a Thrush Turbo Muffler and a 2.5" tailpipe. Sounds good, not too loud. Nice, throaty rumble, and they don't cost much at all.

That relatively new Flowmaster 10 series is very loud and sounds even better. It passed inspection here in NC for me.

Just a cat on mine.
It get loud if you wind it up like a Yamaha, but with regular truck style rpms its not bad.
you know when its my jeep coming home just from the raspy sound coming down the road.
