I considered the Generic LED for my trail rig, but since I drive it home from the local trails I have decided not to.

I installed AutoPal's Housings on my daughters, they ended up getting water in them and reflection material washed off the inside of them - see below (next set I will seal the rubber boot better), also with generic higher wattage lights and Putco Harness I was not all that impressed with how bright they were before we sold the car.

So I ordered a set of Rampage Housings and Hella Bulbs, with a Putco Harness - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001OMPJHM

I really want an LED set, probably will save up for a set of Trucklites, and move the Rampages to my daughters Trail Rig when the time comes.

I'm 100% sure that the shop who created my headlights created them to be street legal. If they weren't, they'd be out of business.

Actually there IS a lot of science and design behind proper lighting. I can attest as a certified Automotive Engineer and Master Mechanic. This isn't the early 1900's anymore and technology has come a long way. Light travels in waves and different spectrums. Technology has allowed us to manipulate those wavelengths for proper placement and projection. Without that, you might as well just duct tape a damn Mag Lite to your hood and call it a day.

Clearly someone who didn't read my post which only scratches the surface of lighting science and the science of how the human eye/brain perceives visual stimuli.

You're the fool for getting heated all because of a discussion on headlights. I don't know anything about headlights so that is why I ask questions on here to get educated. I'd much rather spend more money on something that is made by a company in my town than less on something from communist China.

then go get lost. Don't come back and advocating crappy and illegal lights to others disguised as sound advice.

And are u saying that u wouldn't bother reading someone's hard work on the research about the science behind the headlights and how human eye see them? What a douche you are. Especially when he posted it on YOUR thread. It show what kind of respect u have for us.

Wow. Looks like the only one getting heated here is you.

I can guarantee you, the "local shop who made your headlights", probably gets ALL their parts from communist China, LOL...they get them at a low price, and mark them up ridiculously high, to put them on your ride...I went to the link you posted. Their shop looks super clean, their website was ok, but you know how they financed all that?

By taking money from people, who could have gone out, bought all the same parts at a much cheaper price, and done the same damn thing.

And if you think for a second that what they install is as well engineered as a set of TL's or JW Speakers, yeah right...both those companies put a ton of hours and money into research and development, as well as the DOT certifications. I've seen other lights, held them in my hand...when I got the TL's, I was SUPER impressed by how beefy and well made they were....let me add here that I was in aerospace electronics manufacturing for over 25 years, so I know quality work when I see it. I also researched the company quite a bit before I pulled the trigger. They make lights for trains, commercial vehicles, and the military as well. The TL's are one of the very few LED setups out there that ARE DOT certified.

Bottom line is, you started this thread and asked for opinions. People gave them to you. When you didn't like what they had to say, you got pissy and butt-hurt, and your attitude showed it.

You complained about the price of the setups people recommended, then spent almost as much on some from someone with a flashy shop and website...you should have done more research, my friend. But hey, it's your money, and you seem happy, so whatever. But as wonders stated, don't come here pushing your poor decisions as sound advice.

Good day to you sir.

I'm not sure how I'm "heated" but okay. You asked questions, got some great answers and then chose to completely ignore them. And that is why you just got screwed into buying some terrible and overpriced headlights. I'm glad you didn't take mine or anyone else's advice. Fool...

That could be good.

Go clutter up some other forums with your poor suggestions. Some places where the folks are too stupid and uncaring to call you out on your silliness.

We don't tolerate that nonsense.

Pirate would be a great forum for you to join.
